An inspiration to me
I've had very little time to post entries in this blog lately. It's been neglected as with MANY areas of my life. Although my life is hectic these days, the last thing I should neglect is my spiritual life and relationship with God. I've blogged about it many times, yet seem to fail at putting my own thoughts into practice. That's the awesome thing about God, however. He knows we are human and will make mistakes, yet He is there to forgive us anyway. He just wants to know we are sorry for our shortcomings.
There is one thing that truly inspires me to remember God through everything this time of year and it comes from an unlikely source. I don't know how many of you observe the large cluster of football players, coaches and personnel who gather after the football games, knees bent in prayer and thanksgiving to God, but I look for it after every game. I don't know these people and I don't know their hearts, but God does and they are truly inspirational to me. Here are masses of young people in the public eye who set examples to their fans. They show, through their acts that no matter what just happened in their game, there is one person they remember. There is one action that they deem important before they leave the field. I don't know about you, but that inspires me. No matter what these people do the rest of the week, they prove that stopping and thanking God is important in their lives. Maybe it's time we start taking a little more time out of our busy lives for God.

Thank you for this post! It reminds me of what I am lacking, and that is a strong prayer life. Like that old hymn says, "Before the rocks cry out, I just want to praise Him...". If we don't give God due praise, inanimate object will sing His praises to our shame. I fail to do my part so many times. Maybe like the ball players, we could all learn a lesson to just praise God for helping us through a work day. Something for me to ponder and put into practice. Thanks again.
