Are you prepared?
I've been thinking so much lately about "being prepared". For starters, nursing school is so crammed full of work, that I come home after my last day of school each week and make out a detailed list of every single thing I have to do for the following week. If this didn't happen, I'd be totally lost and would surely forget something.
Being prepared is something we all do, but mostly in an inadvertent manner. Sunday nights we prepare for the new week. The week before a big game, we prepare by practicing. We prepare for tests by studying. Our meals are even prepared in one form or another.
But, how about our spiritual lives. How much time do we spend "preparing" for God? How much time do we spend "preparing" for worship? I'm sure we can answer this question differently by the day or week. I don't know about you, but if you're anything like me, some weeks you feel "on fire" with your Christian walk, while others, well, you're just plain burnt out.
No matter what we are dealing with in our lives, no matter how stressful our day-to-day is, we need to prepare for God. Think about how much God has done and is doing to "prepare" for you. He's done everything for you, what do you do for Him? Do you prepare yourself on Saturday's to make the next day the best worship to God ever? Do you prepare yourself on Sunday's to live the most Godly lives you can live that week? Have you prepared yourself to spend eternity with God in Heaven? We need to be prepared for many things here on earth, but most importantly, we need to be prepared for God!!

Thanks, Emjaye! This blog always gets me thinking on the right track!!! :)
You are so right. I make lists every day of things I need to do or get ready for, but I have never had God on that list. Thank you for making me see that I need to redirect my priorities better. You truly are a blessing in my life.
WOW! This is strong. I am a great procratinator as you well know. Sometimes, I just walk into situations without any thought of asking God to guide me and prepare me to do the right thing. I want to be prepared. Especially for His return. Thanks for the reminder.
