GO

I know I'm big on promoting songs I find inspiring, but I'm here to promote a whole CD this time. If you are able to check out Newsboys latest CD, simply titled "GO"...you will be truly blessed and entertained at the same time. It's a very evangelical arrangement, but that is not surprising if you've followed this band at all. Ok, I'd love to post all the lyrics for you, but that would take all day. So, I'll start w/ my favorite.
IN WONDER
So much wonderCarved in your coral seas
So much wonderShaded by ancient trees
I consider all that your hands have made
Every newborn’s eyes, every new sunrise
No power can tame your presence
No light can match your radiance
LET ALL CREATION SING IN WONDER
EVERY SEA, EVERY CREATURE, EVERY STAR
YOU OPENED UP MY EYES TO WONDER
WHAT A VISION, WHAT A WONDER YOU ARE
Such a wonderOrdering time and tide
Such a wonderBridging the great divide
I consider all that you had, all you gave
And all that you enduredFrom this rebel world
What a wondrous cross you chose to bear
What a wonder you would even care[Repeat Chorus]
LET EVERY ROCK CRY OUT LET EVERY KNEE BOW DOWN
YOU OPENED UP MY HEART TO WONDER
WHAT LOVE, WHAT A WONDER YOU ARE
No power can tame your presence
No light can match your radiance
Such a wonder...Such a wonder...[Repeat Chorus]
LET EVERY ROCK CRY OUTLET EVERY KNEE BOW DOWN
YOU OPENED UP MY HEART TO WONDER
WHAT LOVE, WHAT A WONDER YOU ARE

More blessings than we know!

This is a hard holiday season for me. Nothing is going to be quite the same ever again. But, one thing that is great about this time of year is that no matter your problems, no matter the pain you feel, there is still much to be thankful for.

I think about the war and the families that live in constant fear. I think a/b the many missionaries out in foreign lands not knowing if they are safe to go to sleep at nights. I think about those all alone on the streets who are lost and cold. The amazing thing about God is that He knows about the fears and the loneliness and the pain and He's there if we are willing to believe and accept it. We can go into foreign lands and fight or teach...we can go into the streets to help the lost and the cold, we can overcome our sadness and pain and realize we are never alone b/c we have a friend who walks with us and talks with us and tells us that we are His!

So, I have many things to be thankful for. I have a family who cares, I have good friends and a loving church home, I have food and shelter and a car to get me where I need to go. I am truly blessed and I won't forget that even though Satan tries to get me to forget it at times.

This holiday season, take the time to be truly thankful to God for what you do have. You actually have a lot more than you'll ever know!!

Friends are friends forever

I truly think one of the coolest gifts we are given here on earth is the gift of friendship. What would we do without our friends. It's like the Michael W. Smith song says, " a lifetime's not too long to live as friends".

I consider myself truly blessed in the friends department. I can't really remember a time when I didn't have a good friend or 2 to talk to. I could give countless stories and mention many names, but I think it is most important to say that in my 32 years, I have had many great friends.

This year, in particular, has reminded me of how important my friends are. I have faced many struggles and have dealt with serious pain and loss, but God has shown me there are people I can confide in and people who truly care. And, most importantly, I have reassured that real friendship is found with Jesus. He has showed us the way of true friendship because He has loved us enough to die for us. We don't have to die for someone to show our friendship, but we can listen, help, encourage and give. "A friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need." Prov. 17:17 Take some time to encourage a friend today...give them a smile, listen to their problems...most importantly, thank God for your friends. Because, without them, life would be a lot less happy!
"Lean on me, i'll lean on you, we'll be ok" -Dave Matthews

What it takes

How much do we really give to God. If we confess that He is Lord, and strive to live by His word, why don't we put our trust in Him in all things and give Him the best of ourselves? I highly recommend Jeremy Camp's new CD. Not only is the music wonderful and entertaining, but the lyrics are beautiful and so meaningful to the lives we are living in this world today. Check it out!

WHAT IT TAKES
"I've been here a thousand times before...Face down on the floor, Wondering how I even reached this place again, But You've shown so endlessly, how Your love pours over me, No picture can re-create the beauty that I see
Chorus: Show me what it means, to live my life a sacrifice, If only I would realize, How much it took to pay the price, I know I'd always give, everything to You.
I want this world to always see, Your perfect majesty, reflecting from my life, this brilliant poetry, Written all over this place, the signs of all creation, that You breathed, Words can't even state, how much You mean to me,
Chorus: Show me what it means, to live my life a sacrifice, If only I would realize, How much it took to pay the price, I know I'd always give, everything to You.
I want to face my very crime, of not always giving all of mine, but I can hear the hope You bring to me,
Chorus: Show me what it means, to live my life a sacrifice, If only I would realize, How much it took to pay the price, I know I'd always give, everything to You."
