More blessings than we know!
This is a hard holiday season for me. Nothing is going to be quite the same ever again. But, one thing that is great about this time of year is that no matter your problems, no matter the pain you feel, there is still much to be thankful for.
I think about the war and the families that live in constant fear. I think a/b the many missionaries out in foreign lands not knowing if they are safe to go to sleep at nights. I think about those all alone on the streets who are lost and cold. The amazing thing about God is that He knows about the fears and the loneliness and the pain and He's there if we are willing to believe and accept it. We can go into foreign lands and fight or teach...we can go into the streets to help the lost and the cold, we can overcome our sadness and pain and realize we are never alone b/c we have a friend who walks with us and talks with us and tells us that we are His!
So, I have many things to be thankful for. I have a family who cares, I have good friends and a loving church home, I have food and shelter and a car to get me where I need to go. I am truly blessed and I won't forget that even though Satan tries to get me to forget it at times.
This holiday season, take the time to be truly thankful to God for what you do have. You actually have a lot more than you'll ever know!!

I am thankful!! We do take so much for granite. We should be thankful everyday... It is almost a shame that we have to have a special holiday to remind us to thank our God for everything he has done!Sometimes I think it is that we have sooo much that we forget who it is that is responsible for those blessings! Indeed we are blessed... Thank you Lord for everything!
You know I just wrote that comment and it made me think.... the hardest thing to be thankful for is our trials.... That is one of my big downfalls... When things are going wrong or things I don't understand, that is when I want to say "Why?" or "That isn't fair." My first thought is NOT usually, Thank you God for this horrible thing, or Praise the Lord. And if I do actually state that, how sincere is it really? Wow I have alot of growing to do!!!! Thanks Miranda :)
Hey, it's like the Mercy Me song says..."Jesus Bring the Rain"...we don't want it, but we need it.
